Help us celebrate our next Teacher Spotlight #HomegrownHero, Elementary Art Teacher, Mrs. Tammy Dooley!
Tammy tells us, "I was born and raised right here in Putnam County on the West end. After graduating from Putnam County High School in 1996, I attended and graduated from Culver-Stockton College with my teaching degree. I taught art for two years at Marion County Schools. Then I moved back to our local area, where I earned my Master's degree from @William Woods University. I have been working and teaching at Putnam County R-I Elementary for 20 years this year and 2 years at Marion County, so 22 years total so far. I consider myself fortunate to be able to teach children about art. My faith in God has called me to serve my community. My past teachers have also inspired me to teach our young people."
“I married my high school sweetheart. I have two sons, July and Asher, who are also Putnam County High School graduates. One has graduated with his Associate's degree in Business and the other is currently attending S&T for engineering. I have also been blessed with a daughter. She is a toddler and keeps us on our toes. I enjoy spending time with family, friends, attending church, and spending time outside when I'm not at school."
Thank you, Mrs. Dooley, for making Putnam County R-I your home! We appreciate all you do to encourage the creative side of our students and help expose them to the world of art!
